Buenos Aires, March 30 (NA) — Justice has advanced in the case investigating alleged irregularities within the Argentine Football Association (AFA) and has resolved to prosecute Claudio 'Chiqui' Tapia, Pablo Toviggino, Nicolás Malaspina, Claudio Blanco, and Marcelo Lorenzoso for the crime of undue retention of contributions. The measure was signed in recent hours by Judge Amarante, who ordered the prosecution without pretrial detention of the accused, considering there are sufficient elements to prima facie link them to the investigated facts. Additionally, the magistrate ordered a seizure of the assets of the accused as part of the progress of the judicial case, within a framework that points to irregularities related to contributions and resources of the system, according to the Argentine News Agency. In the case of Tapia and Toviggino, the resolution also maintains the prohibition on leaving the country, a restriction that was already in place and will remain in effect while the process unfolds.
